Cell Phone Tricks and Tips

Find a business location no matter where you are. by Lyman Cox

Put the phone number 800 466-4411 in your contact listings. When you are looking for a particular business (Home Depot, Wal Mart, Golden Coral, etc.) in an area with which you are not familiar, it's easy to do with your cell phone.
A service provided by Google gets you in touch with the desired business so you can get location instructions from the store itself.   I used it today for the first time and it worked flawlessly.

First, call 800 466 4411.  An automated voice answers and asks what city and state you are inquiring about.  I said, "Albuquerque, NM".   The voice asked the name of the business you are seeking.   I said,  'Mimi's Cafe".  The voice gave me the address and connected my call to the business (Mimi's Cafe) I was seeking.  The person at Mimi's gave me instructions for getting to their restaurant.

Get highway closings, weather and construction delays on your cell phone.
Thanks to Karen Spaulding for this tip.
511 on your GPS cell phone will get you in touch with The Transportation Department where the cell phone is physically located.  Get road closings, from construction, accidents
and weather.
