ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL QUARTZSITE RALLY
Holiday greetings to all Chapter 7
Members,
Hopefully, you all had a Happy
Thanksgiving. We, who attended the November Rally at
Quartzsite, had a fun time. Please refer to the enclosed
minutes for some of the information.
Host for Tuesday was Bob Magda with
the help of Pat and Tom Dunkel. Registration began at 1:00
followed by the usual Friendship/Happy Hour at 4:00. Dinner
at 5:00 consisted of hamburgers, beans, chips and pudding. A
campfire and games followed. Brenda Neil won Phase 10 and
Diane Koeb (a new player to 31) won $8.00. Donna and Donn
Marschall split the pot the 2nd night. The lights
in the tent are a wonderful addition for game players! Thanks
to Larry Smith for your brainstorming.
Wednesday’s hosts were Doris &
Robert Eildert with Guadalupe & Dennis Griffin. At 9:00, we
were served French toast with ham and juice. At 1:00 our VCR,
Lila Dudley, taught us how to do one stroke painting on gift
bags. It was a fun craft and a real challenge for some of
us. Some of us laughed that our autumn leaves looked more
like hearts than leaves. Again, Happy Hour was at 4:00. The
Dudleys handed out a Sweet Suggestions quiz that was fun to
take. (Sorry, can’t remember the winner/s.) The answers were
all candy. Example = Giggles was Snickers, etc. Dinner was
delicious chili with cornbread and cookies for dessert.
Thursday’s hosts were Brenda and
David Neil who began our day with a Potluck Brunch. There
were many yummy dishes. At 1:00 we did a Poker Walk, and
Kathy Cochrane was the big winner. At 3:00 was the meeting,
Happy Hour and Raffle Drawings. Dinner was at 4:30 –
International Dogs: Polish Sausage on a Mexican Tortilla,
Spanish Onions, French Mustard, German Sauerkraut and American
cheese. For dessert we had Cherry Delight – one of my
favorite desserts of Brenda’s. Immediately following dinner
was the CARE Auction with Brenda Neil as auctioneer and Herb
Johnson helping her. Thanks to everyone who contributed we
made $1,879.00 earning us 2 more patches for the banner.
Friday was break camp and pack up
the Rally Wagon. Thanks to Jay Baum who transported the wagon
from KOFA and took it back! I wish all of you a Merry
Christmas and a Happy New Year. Safe travels until we meet
again.
Hugs,
Pat Dunkel, President
