Port Townsend, WA

"Preserved in history", "A step back in time" are some of the references made to the "City of Dreams" Port Townsend. One of the first towns in Washington to look to the future and  preserve its past, the result is evident. Restored Victorian style 19th century homes and commercial buildings are numerous. Beautiful Bed and Breakfast establishments and restored mansions dot the area. Wonderful little shops to satisfy your needs.

On a clear day the view of the white capped Cascades is breathtaking. You can also see Mt. Rainier and Mt. Baker. There are many unique shops, galleries, restaurants, craft shows and walking tours. The waterfront will attract you with its marinas, boat repair yards and restaurants that overlook Port Townsend Bay.

Leave your RV parked and experience the thrill of a wildlife sightseeing and whale watch tour or travel the San Juan Islands via one of Capt. Pete's boats. Tours run from May 24 to August 31st

The Bell Tower, built nearly a century ago to summon volunteer firemen, is the only one of its kind in the United States. Other must see places include: Fort Warden, Kah Tai Lagoon Park (wildlife habitat), Point Wilson Lighthouse, Chetzemoka Park, (see photos below) and Manresa Castle. You'll want to stay in the Port Townsend Museum for hours, there is so much to see.

Listen to The Port Townsend Community Band  performing at the Chetzemoka Park on the third Sundays through the months of June July and August. Arrive a little before 3 PM

All your medical, healthcare and minor emergencies can be taken care of by Madrona Hill Urgent Care while you are visiting.

If you can, plan your visit between April and June to see all the colorful Rhododendrons at the Centennial Rhododendron Garden. If it's history you want there are churches, houses, mansions and commercial buildings from the early 1800's. Plan to stay awhile, there are many wonderful experiences in this historic port. Walk on the ferry and have a memorable ride to Whidbey Island. Once on the Island take a bus ride that circles this beautiful island.
